Two new resources for Southeastern strawberry growers

Strawberry growers and others who are more technologically advanced than I am (i.e., who have a smartphone) can now access integrated disease management information for strawberries, including assistance with diagnostics, information about disease cycles, and management recommendations, using the MyIPM app. It’s available for Android right now, but according to a recent Growing Produce article, an Apple/iOS version should be available soon. This app was developed under the supervision of Dr. Guido Schnabel of Clemson University and covers peach IPM, also. You can read more about it here.

A second new resource, available even to regular ole computer users like me, is the Sustainable Practices for Plasticulture Strawberry Production in the Southeast extension publication, from Amanda McWhirt, Dr. Gina Fernandez, and Dr. Michelle Schroeder-Moreno of North Carolina State University.
